Dita's vs Leibovitz it's War !
Celebrity photographer Annie Leibovitz has moved quickly to deny allegations her recent Katy Perry shoot was inspired by burlesque beauty Dita Von Teese.
The famed snapper shot Perry wearing lingerie and posing with her hands on her hips for the June cover of Vanity Fair, sparking comparisons to a sultry advertising campaign Von Teese starred in for underwear firm Wonderbra in 2008.
Leibovitz has now denied borrowing ideas from Von Teese, telling the New York Post's Page Six column, "I'd never seen the Wonderbra ad. Katy's is a classic pose as old as the hills."
Von Teese herself insists she is flattered by the alleged imitation, adding, "Katy and I are friends. She comes to a lot of my shows, but she (recently) came backstage and said, 'I am taking all of this (gesturing at Von Teese's hair and costume).' People have always copied my style. I used to have friends who would dye their hair exactly the same shade as mine. I see it as a compliment."
Here at Polestars we are a massise fan of both of these icons and hope they both learn to get along soon. If you want to learn a little of Dita's tricks then why not try one of our classes or tasters. If you are looking for hen party ideas then why not try a Burlesque Hen Party.
