Louise Douglas
Name: Louise Andrée Douglas
Age: 25
Which classes/parties you teach: Can-Can, Thriller, Chicago, Cheerleading, Grease/Musical Theatre, and hopefully also Dirty Dancing, Bollywood Burlesque and Salsa.
Hometown: Basildon, Essex but originally Fife, Scotland.
Different day job: Professional Dancer/ Actress
How long have you been dancing: 20 years (eeek!)
What do you love most about dancing: Hearing a good beat and not being able to stand still- as we say in Scotland- ‘Cannae beat it!’
Why did you started teaching dance: I love passing on the buzz of dancing to people who might not have experienced it before and helping people who have danced to progress!
Why you love teaching at Polestars: The hen parties are fun fun fun from beginning to end and I get to teach a range of different styles to people of all ages from all walks of life- total variety!
Fave Song to dance to: Anything at all by Michael Jackson and basically anything with a good beat that gets my feet a-movin!
Best dancing experience: Couldn’t possibly choose- every dancing experience is the best in it’s own way! Dancing at Scotlands National Stadium with the Scottish Claymores would definitely be a highlight though!
Best teaching moment: Teaching a group of non-dancing Football players and helping them progress and build their confidence enough to put on a performance to the rest of their team!!
Fave food: Tough question…But would probably have to be Scottish Steak Pie…mmmm and I’m Choca-holic (admitting it is the first step to cure, right??!)
Fave films: Step Up, Pretty Woman, Mary Poppins, Sound of Music, Dirty Dancing, Grease- all the dancey ones!
