Hometown: Leeds
How long have you been dancing: Since I was about 4 years old.
What do you love most about dancing: It is fun!
Why did you started teaching dance: I started pole dancing lessons about 4 years ago and loved it. I then decided to learn how to teach it.
Why you love teaching at Polestars: I love working for Polestars as I get to meet loads of interesting people. It also makes a nice change from my day job, teaching children in a school.
Fave song to pole dance to: At the moment I enjoy using Madonna and Black Eyed Peas.
Fave song to burlesque dance to: I like the Christina Aguillera album Back to Basics. It’s got some great Burlesque songs on it.
Best dancing experience: My best experience has to be when I used to dance in cabaret shows when I was younger. I used to love wearing fancy costumes and dancing in front of an audience.
Best teaching moment: I particularly enjoy teaching the courses as I really get to know the ladies I teach, and can watch their confidence grow as the course progresses.
Fave food: Chocolate
Fave films: The Wizard of Oz and Chicago.

Katie AKA 'Scouse' is 25 and teaches pole dancing lessons, burlesque classes and hen parties in Leeds.
How long have you been pole dancing for: Over 3 years.
Why you started teaching: Because I had just moved to London and didn't know anybody! I also wanted to tone up and get fit in a fun and sexy way.
The best thing about teaching with Polestars: The staff are great and all the teachers are really talented
Different day job: I currently work as an Account Director for a Marketing company
Favourite song to pole dance to: Only you, Ashanti
Favourite food: KFC!
Favourite film: It has to be Borat!
Most embarrassing incident while pole dancing: On one occasion I was performing a dance and went to go upside down, however my 8inch glass shoe flew off and very nearly hit one of my students! Needless to say, I stick to shoes with straps these days....

Leeds Hen Party Teacher - Charlotte

Charlotte

Charlotte is 21 and teaches pole dancing parties and burlesque hen parties in Leeds.
How long you have been pole dancing: 10 months
Why you started teaching: Because I love pole dancing and it’s the most much fun to teach compared to other dance styles I teach.
The best thing about teaching with Polestars: You get to meet new people all the time and you’re always learning new moves from other teachers which helps you improve your technique.
Different day job: I’ve just graduated from university and am taking a year off to work and do some travelling before I start a PGCE in dance at the Royal Academy of Dance next year. Need a break from studying!
Favourite song to pole dance to: That’s hard as my taste in music changes everyday so it depends on my mood really! I always like dancing to JT’s Sexy Back, Fall Out Boy’s ‘Thanks for the Memories’ (good for lots of spins that song!) and Girls Aloud Sexy No No No.
Favourite food: Sunday roast
Favourite film: The Notebook and 300
Most embarrassing incident while pole dancing: Ha ha, gosh… it had to be when I was dancing in a nightclub and it was running smoothly until I did a move in which I kick my leg up high but when I did it I accidentally kicked a guy in the neck. He almost choked on his drink, I felt so bad but luckily he saw the funny side!

Leeds Hen Party Teacher - Suzanne

Suzanne

Different day job: I model for photographers and art classes during the day and sometimes perform as a pole, belly or burlesque dancer at various shows and events around the country.

How long have you been dancing? I have been pole dancing for nine years.

Why did you start teaching? I love teaching because I love to dance and would like as many people as possible to try it.  I really enjoy seeing people gain confidence as they learn more.

I really enjoy teaching people new skills and watching them take that knowledge and fly with it, making it their own.

Favourite Song: I have many favourite songs to pole dance to but right now it's Uprising but Muse.
My favourite burlesque song right now is Paolo Nutini's Pencil Full of Lead (first song I did a burlesque performance to).

Favourite Food: My favourite food is curry.

Favourite Film: My favourite film is V for Vendetta

Most memorable teaching moment: My most memorable teaching moment is watching my first pupil, an extremely shy lady of 47 do her first performance on stage in a busy club after only three months of lessons.  She was amazing.  I welled up.

Most embarrassing teaching moment: I'm not sure about embarrassing teaching moments but I'd been pole dancing for six months when I fell off the pole onto my head during a stage show.
