Hometown: Maidstone, Kent
Different day job: Pole Fitness Instructor and English Language Teacher
How long have you been dancing: 10 years, teaching for over a year.
What do you love most about dancing: I love the sense of freedom I get from dancing and how I can express myself through my choreography and musical choice, also the level of creativity needed.
Why did you start teaching dance: I have always wanted a career in dance however I never had the confidence in myself to take the step and risk to become a full time dance teacher. That was until I found pole dancing and fell in love with it. I trained every day and started teaching it 5 months after my first class. Since then I have quit my job moved country and I’m now pursuing my career in pole dance and other areas of dance and fitness!!
Why you love teaching at Polestars: The best thing about teaching with Polestars is being able to share my passion with others, I love seeing the confidence boost all my students gain from all the classes, more than anything the sense of achievement each person has when they conquer what seems like an impossible move! It is such a rewarding job! Also polestars have been extrememly supportive, always professional and just wonderful people to work for.
Fave Song to dance to: I love such a variety of music to dance too. Lately I have been using a lot of songs from Santogold, especially for pole as they have such sexy lyrics and beats which gives my choreography quite a sensuous feel, I love it!!! You can´t beat feeling sexy!!Xx
Best dancing experience: My biggest achievement in dance was when I finally managed to do the twisted grip handspring, I had tried so hard for such a long time that I was so emotional by the time I finally did it :-/ Also the first time I performed on stage, it was such an incredible feeling.
Best teaching moment: My best teaching moment would have to be when one of my students, who was with me from the beginning, competed in her first pole competition!! Very proud!!xx
